***Running For The Cure***

(running in memory of Kayla Kenney)

Reach The Beach is a 210 mile relay race that starts at the base of Mt. Washington in Bretton Woods, NH; winds thru the White Mountains; and ends in Hampton Beach, NH. Each member of our team (6 men and 6 women) ran 3 legs, averaging between 5 and 7 miles per leg (roughly 17-20 miles in total per person). The race is a non-stop 24 hour event. Our team goal was to raise $60,000 for the Jimmy Fund at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Money raised for Dana-Farber's cancer research helps raise the chances of survival for children diagnosed with cancer.

Mission Accomplished!!!!
Our team of warriors ran 210 miles in a monsoon (4 inches of rain in NH and 50 degrees) in 28 hours. We placed 56th out of 240 teams (8 minute miles). And no one quit. It was an honor to be part of such a solid team. Wouldn't be surprised if we made it back again next year. Thanks again to everyone who supported us.
